MICA, in collaboration with Fers 17, is organizing “AI Hands-On Evenings” at libraries across Friesland to promote AI literacy

The world of artificial intelligence is evolving at breakneck speed. It’s time to discover for yourself what’s possible. In collaboration with Fers and students from the MICA Talent Pool, MICA is organizing a series of 17 inspiring AI workshops, held at five libraries across Friesland.

In an accessible and practical way, we provide insight into how AI can already be used today, from everyday tasks to creative applications. These are not long, theoretical presentations, but interactive sessions in which participants actively engage with AI.

There’s plenty of opportunity to explore and try out various AI tools. Think of ChatGPT and Copilot, which help with writing, planning, and organizing ideas and workflows. Or tools like Suno, which can be used to create unique images and music in no time. The workshops offer an accessible way to get acquainted with these technologies, with no strings attached: everything is allowed, nothing is required.

In addition to the practical aspects, attention is also given to the broader impact of AI. Issues surrounding ethics and responsibility are discussed in detail. What does the use of AI mean for energy consumption? How is personal data handled? And just how reliable is the information generated by AI?

The “AI Do Evenings” offer an inspiring and accessible introduction to the possibilities and considerations surrounding artificial intelligence. Whether you’re driven by curiosity, practical applications, or simply want to get started, these workshops make AI understandable, relevant, and—above all—experiential for everyone.
