Eurovision Prompt Festival

If AI is the artist, who gets the applause? Come see for yourself: April 16 at Neushoorn in Leeuwarden. A creative evening where all songs are generated by AI and performed live by drag performers, accompanied by a live band. Expect glitter, experimentation, technology, and reflection.
March 19, 2026

What happens when music, drag performance, and artificial intelligence come together on one stage? You’ll find out during the very first edition of the Eurovision Promptfestival: a unique music event in which all songs are created using AI and performed live by drag performers, accompanied by a live band of Firda students. But the Eurovision Promptfestival is more than just an AI party. It’s also an experiment and an invitation to reflect on the future of creativity. If the artist is AI, who gets the applause?

AI is transforming how music is created, how stories are born, and how creativity takes shape. At the Eurovision Promptfestival, you’ll experience this firsthand: from AI-generated songs to live performances and reflections on what this means for creators. During this evening, twelve AI-generated songs will come to life on stage. Five performers will each perform two songs. After the performances, both a professional jury and the audience will decide which act takes home the prize.

The evening kicks off spectacularly with Chagall, who, with her innovative MiMU Gloves, builds a unique bridge between music and technology. Next, the drag performers will take the stage, while Jezze Jezebel hosts the evening. The performances will be judged by an expert jury consisting of Willem de Vries (Omrop Fryslân), Floris de Jonge (NHL Stenden), and Rowan Veltman (influencing artist). The show concludes with spoken word artist Afrida Adema, who offers a poetic reflection on the role of AI in the creative sector.

The Eurovision Prompt Festival is organized by MICA (Media Innovation Campus) in collaboration with students from Firda and NHL Stenden. Together, they are exploring how technology, performance, and creativity can reinforce one another.

The event is made possible in part by Netwerk Mediawijsheid Nederland and the Leeuwarden Digital Agenda (LDA).
